For more than 15 years, the comedy world’s senses has been tantalized by both audio and visual artistry. The young man known as Shaun Jones is making his mark everywhere he goes with his quick wit and fashionable flair
Born in Newark, New Jersey and having lived in Los Angeles for a short time, Shaun now calls Atlanta, GA home. He has traveled abroad entertaining crowds using many of his personal life experiences to get a laugh. Like an accomplished chef, Shaun’s comedy performances combine a cup of truth, a spoonful of originality, and a double twist of humor. When he takes the stage, he mixes his talents before the audience, bakes his show just right and serves up a unique dish to satisfy everyone’s laughter appetite. Shaun has appeared on several television appearances like B.E.T’S Comic View, Black Starz “Martin Lawrence presents 1st Amendment Standup”, and Robert Townsend’s “Partners In Crime-the next generation”. He also was in the 2003 motion picture called “Shade” as the crooked poker player, Mr.Ose, Starring Jamie Foxx and Sylvester Stallone. He has sold out shows in various Comedy Zone comedy clubs abroad including Jacksonville’s Comedy Zone. Catch him in our room as he passes through Jacksonville.

Atlanta Comedian Shot 4 Times

I received a text message about a comedian that was shot at his hotel, I was immediately alarmed because we book comics all over the country and felt this was a wake-up call. We need to make sure we take pre-cautions whereever we are performing, because some of you may not realize it but you are still celebrities in the sight of your fans. It doesnt matter how big or small your career is, your fans see you differently, please be careful. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Comedian T-Ray and pray for his speedy recovery so that he can get back to his family and the business at hand, spreading laughter.

Based on what we’ve been told, Comedian T-Ray Sanders was involved in an altercation with a group of guys at the club he was performing at in Ohio and was followed back to his hotel room by these same men. He was shot four times, and is in stable condition at this moment but still fighting for his life.

Comedians please be careful when performing, let’s hope it wasn’t an audience member that couldn’t take a joke! Also, be aware of your surroundings and if you’re being followed, you don;t wanna be robbed while out of town either.

Russell Simmons has New Comedy Series Coming

According to our friends at All Hip Hop, Russell Simmons is returning to the world of comedy with a new series for Comedy Central.

The entertainment mogul, along with fellow executive Stan Lathan, will executive produce the half hour show, which will be taped in Los Angeles on Wednesday and Thursday.

Curb Your Enthusiasm star JB Smoove will serve as the host of the stand-up comedy series and include three up-and-coming comics in each episode.

DJ Cassidy will be on hand to provide music. The creation of the new series serves as a reunion for Simmons and Lathan.

The pair’s best-known collaboration came in the 1990s with the hit HBO show Def Comedy Jam.

The show is credited with starting the careers of various comics that include Martin Lawrence, Chris Tucker, Bernie Mac, Dave Chappelle, D.L. Hughley, Mo’Nique, Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer and Mike Epps.

In addition to Def Comedy Jam, Simmons and Lathan’s produced Def Poetry for HBO and the Tony award winning Def Poetry Jam on Broadway as well as executive produced feature films such as Waist Deep, Gridlock’d and The Show.

“Def Comedy Jam made a significant contribution to American pop culture by introducing so many superstars,” said Simmons. “Now, with Comedy Central as our new partner, we’re poised to present the next generation of star talent.

Comedy Central Senior Vice President of specials and talent Elizabeth Porter echoed Simmons’ excitement as she welcomed the opportunity to work with the businessmen on the new show.

“We’ve been trying to get into business with Russell and Stan for a while now and this new stand-up series is an exciting first venture for us to partner with them,” she said. “As someone who was a huge fan of Def Comedy Jam, working alongside these two incredible visionaries on this series has been nothing short of amazing”

Russell Simmons’ and Stan Lathan’s new stand up comedy series is set to air this in the summer on Comedy Central.

CBS Rejects Ad From Gay Dating Website

According To Our Friends at TMZ:

CBS has rejected a Super Bowl commercial from a gay dating website called ManCrunch.com, saying it doesn’t meet their “broadcast standards.”

In a statement, the network said, “After reviewing the ad — which is entirely commercial in nature — our Standards and Practices department decided not to accept this particular spot.” They added that it “is not within the Network’s Broadcast Standards for Super Bowl Sunday.”
